Eternals is a 2021 American superhero film grounded on the Marvel Comics race of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it's the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The film is directed by Chloé Zhao, who wrote the script with Patrick Burleigh, Ryan Firpo, and Kaz Firpo. It stars an ensemble cast including Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie.
In the film, the Eternals, an immortal alien race, crop from hiding after thousands of times to cover Earth from their ancient counterparts, the Counterculturists.

Eternals premiered in Los Angeles on October 18, 2021, and was released in the United States on November 5, as part of Phase Four of the MCU. The film has grossed over $371 million worldwide. It entered mixed reviews from critics, who praised its themes and illustrations, but blamed its exposition, pacing, runtime, and lack of character development.

In 5000 BC, ten superpowered Eternals — Ajak, Sersi, Ikaris, Kingo, Sprite, Phastos, Makkari, Druig, Gilgamesh, and Thena — are transferred by the Celestial Arishem to Earth on their starship, the Domo, to abolish the invasive Counterculturists. The last of the Counterculturists are killed in 1521, and the group's opinions differ over their continued liabilities and their relationship with humankind. Over the coming five hundred times, they substantially live piecemeal from each other, awaiting Arishem's return.
In the present day, Sersi and Sprite live together in London. After Sersi was left by her mate Ikaris centuries before, she's now in a relationship with mortal Dane Whitman, who works at the Natural History Museum. The triad is attacked by the Aberrant Kro, with Ikaris arriving and chasing the critter down. Realizing the Counterculturists have returned, they travel to South Dakota to reunite with their leader, Ajak, only to find that she had been killed by Kro.
Sersi is posthumously chosen by Ajak as her successor, granting her the capability to communicate with Arishem, who reveals that the charge of the Eternals wasn't to fight the Counterculturists but to prepare Earth for the"Emergence". Arishem explains that for millions of times, the Celestials have been planting their seeds on populated globes for new Celestials to be born, with the Counterculturists transferred by them to destroy the apex bloodsuckers of each earth to insure the development of intelligent life.
Still, when the Counterculturists evolved and began hunting the globes' native populations, the Celestials created the Eternals to choose them. With the reversal of the Blip, (N 1) Earth has reached the necessary population for the birth of the Celestial Tiamut, which will affect in Earth's destruction.
Having learned to love humanity, the Eternals assemble and decide to help the Emergence. They reconvene with Kingo, Thena, and Gilgamesh before heading to Druig's hearthstone in the Amazon rainforest, where they're attacked by Kro and the Counterculturists. The group successfully kill utmost of them, only for Kro to kill Gilgamesh before fleeing.
After cremating him, they visit Phastos, who proposes for Druig to put Tiamut to sleep by amplifying his mind- control powers with theUni-Mind, a connection between all the Eternals. The platoon also finds Makkari, who has been living in the Domo. Ikaris reveals he was informed of the Emergence by Ajak centuries ahead and, choosing to remain pious to Arishem, fed Ajak to the Counterculturists six days prior to help her from stopping it, before planting her body back at her house to dissemble ignorance. Sprite joins Ikaris as he flees due to her unrequited love for him, while Kingo also leaves the group as he doesn't wish to face Arishem or fight his teammates.
Makkari locates the place of the Emergence at the bottom of an active flash point in the Indian Ocean, and the Eternals battle Ikaris and Sprite before being attacked by Kro, who's also killed by Thena. Druig knocks out Sprite after she attempts to kill Sersi, and the remaining Eternals work together to subdue Ikaris while Phastos activates theUni-Mind. Ikaris breaks free of his conditions and approaches Sersi to kill her, but finds himself unfit to do so due to his love for her. As both he and Sprite join theUni-Mind, Sersi earnings enough power to turn Tiamut to marble. Guilt- ridden, Ikaris flies into the Sun, while at Sprite's request, Sersi uses the remaining energy from theUni-Mind to turn Sprite into a mortal, ending her endless childlike state.
Thena, Druig, and Makkari depart on the Domo to find other Eternals, while Sersi, Phastos, Kingo, and Sprite remain on Earth. Dane professes his love for Sersi and is about to reveal a secret about his family history when she, along with Phastos and Kingo, are ever dragged into space by Arishem. Arishem states he's dissatisfied with their disloyalty, but elects to spare humanity if the Eternals' recollections show that humans are good of living. Covenanting to return for judgment, he disappears into a oddity, taking the triad with him.
In amid-credits scene, Thena, Makkari, and Druig are visited by the Eternal Concupiscence, Thanos' family, and his adjunct Pip the Troll, who offer their help. In apost-credits scene, Dane opens an old casket inherited from his ancestors that contains the fabulous Ebony Blade when an unseen person (N 2) questions him whether he's ready for it.

Eternals movie Release:
Eternals had its world premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on October 18, 2021, and was screened at the Rome Film Festival on October 24.
The film was released theatrically in numerous European countries on November 3, and in the United States and the United Kingdom on November 5 in RealD 3D and 4DX.
In September 2021, Disney blazoned that the film would have an exclusive theatrical release for a minimum of 45 days.
Eternals was preliminarily set for release on November 6, 2020, before it was shifted to February 12, 2021, and also to the November 2021 date, due to the COVID-19 epidemic. It's part of Phase Four of the MCU.
