In the 10th-century, the Chola dynasty rules prosperously in South India, under the reign of Emperor Sundara Chozhar. His sons, Princes Aditha Karikalan and Arulmozhi Varman are successful in their conquests of Kanchi and Sri Lanka for the Chola empire. A group of devote Pandya soldiers scheme to avenge their King, Veerapandiyan, who was slain in battle by the Chola crown prince, Aditha Karikalan. Parallelly, a group of Chola chieftains conspire together to usurp Aditha Karikalan from ascending to the throne and attempt to install his uncle, Madurantakan, as King. Leading this mutiny is the Chola treasurer and minister of finance, Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar. A race against time, the Chola Princes must win a battle against an advancing Rashtrakuta army, and tackle the Pandya threat and Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar's plot.
